what do you wanna know? :D

HELLO PEOPLE!!!

exams are just over!
isn't it awesome?!?! :D

okay... training resumes AFTER exams okay?
don't be lazy and not come down uh... :D
(and NO. im not talking about myself)

hmmmm. so what shall we talk about this week?
okay! we shall talk about camp!!!

I am sure those that had read the post by TK a few weeks ago would know that we are having gonna have a tennis camp in DECEMBER!
awesome or what?

yes, the camp planning is still in progress, so book those days off your calendar and reserve them for the camp alright? :D
let me leak you into a little more on our camp...

do you know that the tennis club hadn't had a camp in like dunno how many freaking years?!
so it's like, finally someone is organising a camp!
so, appreciate our kind efforts and do come down for the camp alright?

it took us a lot of time and effort to plan for the camp...
OKAY. ENOUGH CRAP. NOW FOR THE DETAILS!

other than a barbeque, which we are still planning in progress and thinking of back up plans in case it rains! (so dear god, please don't let it rain on the first day please... or else!)
and what else?
hmmmm, there would be games played (definitely) and hopefully you would enjoy the games that we have planned.
and no, don't think that movie watching is BORING. cuz i am assuring you, it's not. and nopes, it is not to kill time either. it is gonna be exciting...
and what else is awesome about this camp? we would be trying to book the camp in the loft, so that you all would get great accommodations! (in case you don't know what is the loft, GOOGLE IT... nahs. im kidding. im telling YOU! the loft is a place that you get to stay in school and it is something like an apartment all to yourself! (okay, maybe not. you may be sleeping with your friends! equally awesome right?) but nopes, guys and girls are NOT allowed to be sleeping together, in case you're thinking you can sleep with some hot people or something, yeah sure. just make sure they are the same sex with you.)

it's a short camp, really short. 3 days 2 nights only. it's just 3 days of fun and games.

okay. i think i've filled you with enough details, at least enough for you to want to come down for the camp right?
rest assured, you are guaranteed to have fun! :D

alright, enough for now. enjoy your holidays! (they are OFFICIALLY here!)

HEYHEYHEY PEOPLE! It's me again! (Jiexin)
HAHA. I know I know, you guys are waiting for my post right?
Rest assure, this post won't be as short as my previous one,
and of course, not as long as Mr Joshua's (:

Let's see, what should we talk about this week?
Hmm.
Hmmm.
Hmmmm.
Hmmmmm.
HMMMMMM.

Okay, shall tell you guys an enriching/meaningful line:
In order to succeed you must fail, so that you know what not to do the next time.
-Anthony J. D'Angelo

Sounds quite normal right, but it's quite true.
Let me share with you my very precious little experience (Please don't fall asleep!)
I was learning how to serve the right way during yesterday's training.
Honestly speaking, I failed like 38247984789475 times,
until I'm even quite frustrated by myself ):
Although I've not succeeded serving nice balls over the net,
but I got to know my mistakes and ...
I believe one day, I will do it, BECAUSE I'VE FAILED SO MANY TIMES!
HAHAHAHAHA!!! (Okay, i know not funny).

So people, it's okay to fail (but not too many times),
because you'll eventually succeed! (:
Don't give up on learning tennis, come for training,
fail once or twice, and soon enough, you'll find out that you're learning lots of things!

Not bad not bad, I think my post not bad, don't you guys think so?
Okay okay, I can hear claps and cheers everywhere now, don't praise me too much,
I'm a shy person (everyone 'knows' that).

Finally, I shall end my awesome post with a JOKE (:
'When I was born, the doctor came out to the waiting room and said to my father, I'm very sorry. We did everything we could. But he pulled through.' - Rodney Dangerfield

Tennis Muscles!

Sorry for not having a weekly post last week and that this post is a little late =S

Anyway, this week's (or should I say last week's) post is on how to train your Tennis Musclesssss!!!

A lot of your might think that if you want to hit a hard and fast ball, you need lots of arm muscles to swing the racket hard and fast so you can hit the ball real hard.
However, this might not be true. Yes you need arm muscles to hold the racket upright but more importantly, to hit hard, you need a great trunk (Core muscles).

Core muscles is the muscles around your mid-body, simply your abs and muscles around your waist and hips. The reason core muscles and flexibility around you core area is important is because when you swing your racket, you don't just swing your arm but you swing you whole body to allow for maximum swing distance, hence power. So it is to say that if you have a flexible core, you can swing your body more. And when you have a strong core, your total swing is hard. So combine them both, you will be able to hit hard.

A good example will be golf. Golf is a game where you don't swing your arm, but you swing your whole body. See how far the ball flies...

So if you want to hit a hard and fast ball, don't just pump your arms. Do more crunches and go for the planks!

Other than your core muscles, also train your leg muscles, the thighs and the calves so that you can maintain a low position throughout the match.

Alright! That's about it for this post. The information I give is based on some research I have done, not just my own opinion. But feel free to challenge anything you think is wrong! Put them down on the comments section. It will help everyone and make you look smart too!

Maybe another post next time I can post on how to train your Tennis Muscles.

Tennis Club Camp on its way!

Hello, everybody's been in tennis for quite some time now, around 4 months?... and finally there is Tennis Club Camp!

The tentative date for the camp would be from 20 Dec to 22 Dec, during the 2 weeks term break next semester. So do take note to keep yourself free from these dates!

Anyways Tennis camp doesn't mean we will be playing tennis... instead, there will be many fun games in the camp and also movie watching! There will also be BBQ and maybe Camp T!

The objective of the camp is to bond all our members so we get to know one another, juniors to seniors and not just people of the same year.
So stay tuned and check our blog more often for more updates of the camp and other stuff about tennis!

Happy Holidays!

My First Ever Blog Post V^^V

ALOHA PEOPLE!

Joshie here:)this is like my first time doing this sort of thing so hopefully you guys wont be bored to sleep :D
Well what can i say, Its been quite an experience being the president of the tennis club. Learning lots of new stuff and knowing lots of ppl & TO ALL FREHIES! I'm really glad to know you guys and it really warms my heart to see some of you guy showing LOTS of dedication & interest to tennis.Really hope that you guys will stay with us for the second semester too!:D
However i feel that we as a club we can bond even more, I still see many members keeping to themselves or even their own friends(i know that's normal) BUT i just feel that you guys should talk to other members more and get to know each other BETTER (I'm referring to freshies and ehem* some seniors too)

FYI we usually have dinner after the lights off @ 9 @ bukit timah market(lots of delicious food there ;D), so for those who are not in a rush home, are more than welcome to join us for dinner/supper and chit chat together:):)

About the club-T, we will stop taking order in maybe a week or two. I have receive quite some feedback that design not nice ,dry-fit not good ,polo-T not nice..ROFL! ( seriously i dun know how it got voted the top design)ok its still going to be the tennis Club-T of 2010 because majority wins!LOL(FYI for those who are still worried it might turn out bad, DUN WORRY! once the sample is out if we find that its bad or weird we will most definitely do some editing to the design) The point that i actually want to put across is that i VALUE all of your feedback so if any of you guys have any suggestion whether it may be about the training or club events or whatever it maybe, I REALLY WANT TO HEAR THEM:):)so feel free to voice out your opinions(or troubles) to me or any of my wonderful committee members:):)

About the tennis camp, my committee & I will be doing our best to make it happen next semester during the mid-sem break in December so make sure to stay till than :) In the mean time which i have mention earlier if there is any outings or events you feel we should organise as a club..please please let us know!

Oh ya i would also like to share with you all a video which was introduced to me by walter(for the benefit of those who still don't know, walter is the old/perverted/guai lan-looking senior in our club LOL)
Ok this video is about foot-work which is very essential to every tennis player, yes i know its 36mins long! however after watching it i feel its very useful and is worth taking time off to watch :D:D
